The unnamed Player (プレーヤー) is an unseen character in several Senran Kagura games. They are meant to be a personification of the person actually playing the game, and so are given no real personality traits.
Each of the four Players is a different character with different circumstances.
Games with a Player often have the characters turn and directly face the screen to speak to the player.
Senran Kagura: New Wave[]
In Senran Kagura: New Wave, the Player is a new Shinobi Instructor who is overseeing a special government project that will train Good Shinobi and Evil Shinobi together.
In addition to interacting with the shinobi during the Story, the Player can also directly interact and speak with a specific shinobi with Shinobi Communication.
Senran Kagura: Peach Ball[]
In Senran Kagura: Peach Ball, the player is a civilian that was attending the Shinobi Fighter V tournament at the Games Honey Marvelous arcade where Haruka worked.
After Yumi, Asuka, Murasaki, Ryōna, and Yomi are transformed into animals, the Player helps out by operating the pinball machine to vibrate the Peach Ball and transform them back to normal.
The character's hand is actually seen in Yumi's ending as she reaches for it.
In Yomi's ending, she shares one of the gift certificates she wins with the Player.
In the Japanese version, Haruka appears to call the player "her little kitten."
Shinobi Master Senran Kagura: New Link[]
In New Link, the Player again takes on the role of a Shinobi Instructor, but is not the same character that appeared in New Wave.
