Profile[]
Appearance[]
Hyōki is a short girl with a fair complexion and slanted yellow eyes. She has long flowing black hair with a small part sticking up on each side of the head, messy bangs, and thick forelocks. A black hat accented with gold, a single flower, and two pearl chains rest on the side of her head. She wears a black and gold dress that appears longer in the back, accented with a white and gold belt. Around her neck is a white jabot-like piece adorned with a single flower. She also wears a short indigo frilly skirt in multiple layers, a single black and grey stocking on her left leg, along with black gloves ending above the elbow with a lace cuff.
Personality[]
Hyōki is presented as someone who harbors deep hatred and loathing, both towards her family and shinobi as a whole. She hates her older sister in particular, expressing intense amount of jealousy towards her because of the easy life she lived and the popularity she enjoyed.
Despite this hatred, Hyōki has also expressed a bizarre amount of love and affection for Leo and yearns for her attention. Her hatred and love overlap with each other, as if Hyōki is constantly switching between the two at all times.
Because she was forced to become a shinobi and received no recognition from her parents, Hyōki came to hate shinobi lifestyle as a whole and seeks to undo it in its entirety.
Background[]
Hyōki was the second child of a prestigious evil shinobi family, her father being the principal of Foundation Star Cross Academy. Since Leo was already chosen to inherit the family's wealth, Hyōki was forced to continue their shinobi lineage and received intense training from a young age. Ginrei's father was her personal instructor.
Despite not wanting to be a shinobi, Hyōki hoped to earn her parent's love and affection through training and hard work. As the years passed, Hyōki proved to be extremely gifted as a shinobi, acing all of her trials and regularly surpassing her own teachers as a natural prodigy. Despite these accomplishments, she failed to get any recognition from her parents. At the same time, Leo received endless amounts of praise and attention from them due to her charisma and beauty. This led to Hyōki harboring resentment towards her parents, and jealousy towards her older sister over her cozy life and the affection she desperately craved.
The situation only worsened when Leo decided to become a shinobi. Despite not being even half as talented as Hyōki was, Leo was showered in praise and adoration by her family and her friends. Hyoki, meanwhile, was continually ignored and was only told to be better. Hyōki's jealousy would evolve into outright hatred, and she began to despise shinobi lifestyle and questioned her own purpose.
On a fateful day, through unspecified means, Hyōki snapped. She killed her parents, stole the family fortune and the mansion while driving Leo out entirely. After this incident, she would form the Senki Shu, a rogue terrorist faction of rogue shinobi with the sole aim of using Yōma to destroy the very fabric of shinobi lifestyle, and used the family mansion as their base until Leo stole it back with the help of the Zodiac Star Committee and Kurohoro.
Since then, Hyōki has been branded as a rogue shinobi and one of the most wanted shinobi in the world, along with the Senki Shu as a whole.
In Senran Kagura: New Link, It was revealed that she was being experimented on by the Institute known as Lion BIte Conglomerate by her father alongside Suiren and children who are experimented with the power of Yōma which makes her evil with an obsession with the yoma's power and exterminating shinobi. Most of the test subjects were her father's bastard children.
