Rin (凛), also known as Suzune (鈴音), is a playable character in the PlayStation sub-series of Senran Kagura. She was a teacher at Hebijo Clandestine Girls' Academy. She is always cool, and her strength is top class. She is very severe and strict with her students, not believing in the word "mercy".
Profile[]
Appearance[]
As a teacher of Hebijo, she appeared to be tall, with her red-framed glasses on, every time whenever she is on school grounds. When teaching, she wears a tight black miniskirt with black stockings rimmed with black paisley, attached to a garter belt. She also wears a long-sleeved, classy, white dress shirt which reveals much of her bust; while wearing a black camisole underneath.
When she transforms, she dons a tight sleeveless shirt that starts exposing her stomach that is connected to a piece that covers her nose and mouth. Around her neck is a red triangular shaped scarf with white triangle marks and white dots inside of the triangles. She also wears baggy red pants with knee-length black high-top sandals, with a gray cloth wrapped around her waist. Black panties are exposed underneath the cloth and pants.
Personality[]
Being both a teacher and a shinobi, Rin is a calm, collected woman who barely ever expresses emotion among her companions. She shows much wisdom when it comes to the subject of yōma and battling them, as she was once nearly killed by them. She does, however, show emotions around her Hebijo Elites and Crimson Squad, as well as with Kiriya and Daidōji.
Rin had been known not to believe in the word "mercy" where she brutally trains her students with no remorse for their safety unless extreme circumstances are presented, such as when fighting yōma and shinobi that are way out of her students' league. However, 300 hours underwater and country-mile sprints are child's play in her book.

Rin thinks about Daidōji, and how she has been waiting for the chance to fight her again despite Daidōji not even knowing whether she was alive or dead. She decides that she can't keep her waiting any longer, and will accept her challenge. However, there is something she must do first.
Rin sees Mirai first. She wants to put those last six months of training to the test. Mirai is unsure whether to call her " Master Suzune" or "Master Rin", but Rin says either one is fine because she doesn't care. Mirai decides on "Master Suzune."
Her next opponent is Yomi. Yomi doesn't want to start the battle on an empty stomach, so she asks Rin if she can hurry up and eat before they start. Rin allows her to do so, telling her to do it quickly while commenting on how she hasn't changed at all.
Rin sees Hikage and Haruka next. She tells them that in a better world the two of them would have been graduating soon, and how the two of them did a great job with the elite class when they were still students at Hebijo. The two of them are shocked at her compliment.
Her final visit is to Homura. She calls out to Homura, but she refuses to speak. This satisfies Rin, as she says silence is an excellent weapon. They agree that there is nothing more for them to say, and Homura says they should hurry and fight to the death. Loving Homura's spirit, Rin agrees.
Rin finally meets with Daidōji. Rin says they shouldn't waste time, but Daidōji immediately questions her -- wanting to know why she didn't return to the academy if she had been alive all that time. Rin says it would be impossible for her to have returned as a failed shinobi. Daidōji says about their promise, and Rin apologizes as she tells her that's exactly why she's there; to fight for her life with her.
Daidōji declares that she will make Rin admit defeat this time, but Rin doesn't believe she needs that now since she has gotten much stronger. Daidōji states that victory in the heart is what's important. Rin comments on how Daidōji's strength, but also says she is much stronger, faster, and harder than Daidōji.
Rin wins the battle and Daidōji calls her soft for not finishing her off. Rin says that she learned it's good to be soft again every now and again from someone very important to her. Daidōji immediately knows she's referring to Kiriya, which Rin confirms. Daidōji decides to accept Rin's softness and regard it as a chance to be stronger like her.
Kiriya asks Daidōji is she still wants to postpone her graduation, but Daidōji shakes her head. She is satisfied with the outcome and says she will graduate. At that moment, they are swarmed by yōma that are drawn to the scent of their blood. Since Daidōji and Rin are injured, Kiriya insist they leave it up to him.
Rin and Daidōji create a Shinobi Barrier around Kiriya to protect him from the yōma as they decide to take it upon themselves to fight. Rin says he should let them show him how far they've come along. She then whispers to herself about how she has always loved Kiriya.

Shinobi Girl's Heart[]
Starting off the scene, Rin contemplates as she looks in the mirror if she was able to continue on. Not as a shinobi, but for her diminishing youth. What makes it worse for Rin is that when she work continuously with her shinobi students, it makes her feel ancient the longer time goes on. She wonders if she was young enough to qualify, and she worries about this question entirely. But to Rin, worrying about the situation only makes her youth disappear much quicker, by having anxiety worsen her skin.
Being all by herself in the room she's in, Rin was growing isolated and didn't want to be alone anymore. Wanting to do something else other than panic and get worked up about youth, Rin starts to think about a solution to such a crisis.
Then it hit her. A girls' night out was Rin's main answer, for it can dismiss some of her loneliness from the laughter and merriment the night out offers. Not only that, but if Rin can share her worries with the other girls who suffers the same problems she has, then her mood will lighten up, and make Rin think up of something to look for in the future.
"Not yet... I can still do it... I haven't withered away yet!" -Rin
Meeting up with Daidōji, Rin informs her that she holding a girls' night out and wants her to join it. Rin then includes in her offer that for the night, they'll have pleasant conversations and forget the "getting older" things, all the while having a good time. Unfortunately, Daidōji rejects Rin's invite because she was younger than her, which left Rin staggered.
Being told that she can't say that she's younger than Rin, Daidōji honestly claims to her that it was a fact, which bewildered Rin, for she thought that they were similar in a way. Daidōji points out that Rin spends every night at the bar, drinking her problems away, and that it was a major difference between them. Rin then frustratingly declared that she only goes to the bar when she gets stressed out. Daidōji grew pity on Rin, because hearing her say that makes her believe that Rin's life was just a huge mess.
"I'm going to hold a girls' night out! Anybody old enough is forced to join in!" -Rin
Rin manages to find Miyabi in the streets of Sensōji. Knowing she will come to her girls' night out, Rin walks to Miyabi and invites her politely. Miyabi was about to give her response, but suddenly, eavesdropping on the conversation, Shiki comes out of nowhere and abrubtly asks if she can join the gathering too. Rin straight away denies her request. "No youngsters allowed", Rin says, jolting Shiki of unbelief.
When Shiki questions of why only Miyabi gets to go to her party, Rin replies that Miyabi was on her alignment of shinobi morality and that they can both talk about how they can keep their youth going. Unfortunately, Miyabi does not comply with Rin about being the same as her, and Rin doesn't believe it. To Rin, Miyabi had the look of having trouble with her age, even if Miyabi denies it. Because of the two girls' argument, Shiki was uneased of the situation and could already tell that this had gone hectic really fast, which made Rin mildly irritated.
"How I loathe it... I loathe the young...! I won't lose to some kid!" -Rin
Coming across Haruka made Rin insecure of whether to invite her or not. Curiosity overflowed Haruka, and asks Rin of what's going on with her. After thinking it out, Rin decides to challenge Haruka so she can she how she moves, and then she'll be sure of her final answer.
When the battle began, Rin said to Haruka that she was still young, to which Haruka agreed with a giggle. Rin grew jealous and told Haruka that her laughter won't be the same when she ages as well. To her enjoyment, Haruka happily points out that Rin takes her anger out on younger women, and that it's hard to understand Rin's struggles. Becoming greatly agitated, Rin exclaims she hates Haruka's kind of youth and she hates her greatly. Making the situation even worse, Haruka sadistic side kicks in and mocks Rin's age by admiring her youthful life towards her.
"Miyabi and Imu! You're on my side! Now, come with me!" -Rin
Rin grew joy when she found Imu, for she is certain that she will join. When asked what Imu was joining, Rin told her about plans for the night. Drinking, having conversations, and forgetting about what comes in the future of aging didn't really ignite Imu's spark of interest, so she politely refuses by saying to Rin that she was still young. Rin didn't believe what Imu was saying and aggressively called her out as a liar. Not knowing that Murasaki and Mirai were with Imu in the area, Murasaki shrivels up in fear while Mirai's curiosity made her join up with Imu about what's going on.
Getting very impatient, Rin silences Imu and demands that she joins in on her night out. Imu nervously rejects by insisting that she was still young, and her skin was still young as well, to which Mirai teased about Imu's forehead at that point. Hearing Imu's response only frustrated Rin even more. Enough to have her assume that the three girls was implying that she wasn't young anymore. Imu denied that they said anything like that, while Murasaki quietly said to Rin that she should just let go of her thoughts of being young. Rin reluctantly tells all of them that she's not giving up just yet, for giving up would mean the end of her diminishing youth.
"If youth's going to fade away, then at least give me hope!" -Rin
As Rin was going along her way all down and blue, Jasmine appeared out of the open and contentedly tells Rin that she'll be joining in on her night out.
Rin was in disbelief that Jasmine appeared for her cause for the night. Because she was in her old age in reality, Jasmine would like to converse with Rin about their youth and how to keep it from disappearing, just like what Rin wanted. However, Rin wasn't really excited about this change of plans her gathering tonight. Instead, she grew unsure and sketchy while keeping it in a low profile matter.
Jasmine manages to catch Rin's doubtful mood and grew sure that Rin wasn't happy about her joining the girls' night out. With slight hesitation, Rin tells her that with Jasmine being in her gathering, it wouldn't be much of a girls' night out. To her, it would more likely be a tea party at a community center, and that made Jasmine agitated that Rin would have the gall from saying such thing. Rin greatly apologizes for saying such thing, but she wants her gathering to be in her way of an actual girls' night out.
Full of sorrow, Rin reluctantly cancels her girls' night out, fills in a reservation to her best-loved bar and starts to head home with disappointment. She arrives home and when she approaches her front door, an empty void of depression starts to grow inside Rin. In her mind, when she opens the door, there won't be anyone or anything on the other side of the door. Just the same room as always filled with the same isolation.
Rin has regrets of opening the front door, and decides whether to just go to the bar or not. She then realizes that alcohol won't solve any of her problems and it'll just worsen her skin furthermore, so her reservation for the bar became fruitless. With that in her mind, Rin decides to just go to bed for the night. She sighs with upmost remorse and opens the door into her room.
"You're late, Rin." said a deep, familiar voice. Rin's mood went suddenly into a surprised shock, seeing that Daidōji was inside her room, sitting down with her legs crossed. Not just Daidōji by herself, but all of the girls Rin has invited. Miyabi, Imu, Shiki, and Mirai, they were all there.
When Rin staggered as she asked why, Miyabi told her that they all would like a chance to get together and converse, while trying to conceal her diffident side as she said that. Rin takes a look around her room. It was all arranged with treats and drinks, and it seems that everyone has contributed for the gathering. To Rin's amaze, her room looks much different with all the liveliness from the other girls in it.

Rin's characteristic speed and giant shuriken allow her to toy with enemies using ranged attacks. The shuriken can also be used as a claw weapon, making her an adept fighter at any distance.
"Rin is to speed as Daidōji is to power. Her attacks are lightning-quick, with great reach too. She can hit everything in sight in a matter of seconds. Her Frantic Mode bolsters her range even more, opening the door for many long-range combos. However, since her game plan is speed, she's not the toughest defender and can be staggered quite easily. With that in mind, it's best to go into her Aerial Rave as soon as possible. Her Stormy Giant Swing can be aimed during its execution, so keep it focused on the enemy. Her Luminous Kaleidoscope hits everything around her, and her Rising Vacuum Slash will basically end the match." -Estival Versus: Rin's Battle Card
