Deep Shadow (真影 - Shinei, lit. "Portait") is one of Asuka's reoccurring Ninja Arts throughout the Senran Kagura series.
Deep Shadow is very different between both the 3DS main series and the VERSUS sub-series:
- 3DS Main Series: Deep Shadow Asuka is a separate playable character with her own unique move-set.
- VERSUS Sub-Series: Deep Shadow is a Ninja Art that allows Asuka to turn into Deep Shadow Asuka with an altered moveset, instead of being a separate character in the 3DS main series.

After holding her wakizashis up, Asuka emits a very powerful green light that erupts from the ground below her, which has a small area-of-effect but greatly damages and knocks back any enemies close enough. After the light disappears, Asuka is transformed into Ultimate Asuka, with her hair all loose and her blades spewing out green light out of the handles.
With a temporarily altered move-set, Asuka teleports with great slashes from her blades when executing light attacks. When performing heavy attacks, she summons many sharp boulders that erupt from the ground.
Asuka can stay in in her Awakened form for twenty seconds before reverting back to normal.
(Asuka becomes able to use this art after reaching Level 12.)
