The Aerial Rave is a prominent technique in the Senran Kagura series and has appeared in every entry with the exception of Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson.
Overview[]
The Aerial Rave is a short series of hits that a character performs on an air born target. Each Aerial Rave is unique to the character and remains the same no matter if in the Normal State, after Shinobi Transformation or while Frantic.
After launching an opponent with a launching move, a Green Ring will appear along with a high-pitched sound effect.
The player can then press the Dash button to pursue the launched enemy for an Aerial Rave.
Aerial Raves can be chained into Aerial Rave Loops. At the end of an Aerial Rave, a Green Ring will appear again, and one can follow up with another Aerial Rave. The number of Aerial Rave Loops is dependent of the balance state of the user.
Since it keeps the user airborne, Aerial Rave is very useful for juggling enemies, applying pressure and avoiding danger below.
In Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus, if two characters collide in the middle of an Aerial Rave Loop, a Clash is triggered.
Trivia[]
- According to the December 22nd, 2011 post on the Nyuunyuu Blog, there was scraped plans to include an Ultimate Aerial Rave that would have supposedly allowed for combos above even the clouds. Sadly, the idea was shelved because it interrupted the pace of the gameplay.
- Known outside Japanese version of Capcom vs. crossover games and particularly all regional versions of Capcom's Devil May Cry series, Aerial Rave can be often called as Air Combo.
